Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre

This is more photography than painting, I love the series "Lost Theatres of Detroit". The spaces are really run down but you can see that they used to be beautiful and that's cool. Not that ypuk has anything even remotely similar to this except maybe the waipawa town hall or even the old hospital (asbestos eww) so I'm not sure how Id be able to mirror this but nevertheless its still amazing.

Arthur Rackham

Beautiful watercolour realism. The alice in wonderlandy ones are really cool and the faces are simple yet real expressive. At the moment the work Im doing doesnt relate to his work specifically (this seems to be a trend...) but He is a possible influence for my folio! which would be cool.

News for Rayner!

Conor Oberst has said his new album "The Peoples Key" will have a more rockier sound - said to be influenced by the Pixies!

Andrew Wyeth

Most of all I love the feeling that Wyeth creates in his paintings. They are soft and calm (bottom) or moody and dramatic (middle) all his paintings create some sense of longing (also middle) which is really amazing. All the open windows and movement in curtains are a definite theme/object Id like to try and mirror.
